About the Author
Benjamin McLaughlin grew up in the heart of "Black Hawk War country," in Rockford, Illinois. He has had a lifelong interest in Black Hawk, the war that bears his name and the people involved. Mr. McLaughlin resides in Chicago, Illinois where he is a legislative reporter and analyst, a historian, and a freelance writer. He has written numerous articles for publications such as the Santa Fe Reporter in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Crosswinds Weekly in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
